Established in Killarney in October 2004, and more recently in our new spacious premises on Beech Road since August 2018, our mission has always been for our customers to have an unforgettable experience with us when they visit and enjoy the wonderful variety of flavours & tastes of Thailand, right here in the Genting Thai Restaurant. We do this using fusions of fresh herbs & spices combined with finest quality, fresh, locally sourced meat & vegetables, and we make all our own sauces in house too. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the menu had a good selection and there was also a vegetarian and vegan menu available too.
Food was served quickly, and was simply delicious. I’m glad we reserved a table as the restaurant filled up fast!

We must say that we were not disappointed when we returned to the relocated restaurant, The restaurant is now on one of the main streets of Killarney town centre.
The food tasted authentic and was unbelievably delicious. Portions are quite generous.
The place was clean and really well decorated to give you a glimpse of modern Thailand..

The food was amazing, a wonderful break from Irish food. The drink could have been much stronger for how long we had to wait to even get water to our table (food came first, then about 15 minutes passed and we had to ask for our drinks/water). The restaurant happened to have a massive dinner party going on of probably 50+ people, which made the restaurant so loud I'm not sure if any of the other guests enjoyed it. We also basically finished our food before drinks arrived, which is tough since we asked for spicier food. Would opt to sitting outside for sure. Megan Wilcox09-06-2024 -
Good Had a booking for 4 people for dinner. We arrived and we were brought to our table. We had a lovely gentleman looking after us, sorry I didn’t get his name he was very attentive and he was very good at his profession. The food was fab. We had starters mains and desserts. Everyone was lovely some of the younger staff members were not polite and seemed they didn’t want to be there a pity We will return

Lovely food and kind staff! So I came back again as I was here in January and I was disappointed and by god it didn’t disappoint this time! Food was amazing! Customer service was A1! Great size portions and omg the cocktails were fabulous 🙂

A big thank you to Luke our main waiter. They even sounded a gong to sing Happy Birthday. Thank you all so much for great food, service and welcome. 
Joan B07-11-2022Great as always Fabulous meal on more than one occasion in this restaurant recently. Great selection of starters and mains and all well cooked. The platter starter is a good choice for a mix of things. The Thai fish cake on it is questionable but the rest is perfect. Would highly recommend the sizzling crispy chicken and the steak panang nua! Delicious and full of flavour. Staff have changed hands recently and it feels like some are still getting used to the running of the place but hopefully with time everyone will be as friendly as the previous staff. Looking forward to returning. Very clean and well kept restaurant.

The green curry was the best ive had in years. My family members who live here say it is a favourite and I can see why. Hope to visit again before my trip is over.

Great that they have a vegetarian/vegan menu but please, please add a vegetarian Thai curry option. Really disappointing that all the curries contain fish sauce. That aside the food was really lovely.

Ashbubble117-04-2022Nice choice This was a nice choice for dinner on a rainy Saturday evening. We arrived to a busy restaurant, but were seated right away. We ordered two different versions of the pad Thai, and it came out after a reasonable length of time - yummy and warm. No complaints.
The "service" itself was practically non-existent (we had to flag people down to help us with drinks, etc.) but the tasty food made this OK.

Emmahurson17-12-2021Yummy scrummy I ate here last night for the first time since they moved from the arcade location in the town centre and the food was still as amazing as I remember. I often used to frequent when visiting the area. I had number 3 to start and number 21a. The decor is absolutely stunning on its own and would beat any so called 4 or 5 star hotel decor hands down. Plenty staff available with all Covid regulations followed. Plenty space both indoors and out. It’s just off the new street car park across from tesco express beside the tourist office so very easy to find. I’d highly recommend

Lots of choice on menu, generous portions, and overall delicious food. Only disappointment was the massaman curry - it was really bland, whereas usually it packs a punch. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Angeld6204-09-2021So safe, and such a relaxing dinner My boyfriend and I have eaten here maybe 3 times! And I must say the food is absolutely delicious, it’s reasonably priced and portions are so generous. The staff are extremely friendly and efficient. So polite.
The interior is gorgeous and cosy!
In terms of covid regulations, the checked the for the cert and identification which was very reassuring to see ! It’s great to see them following the government guidelines!
A very relaxing atmosphere here also!

howisitgoing31-08-2021 - Very Good experience It was a busy evening at 7 pm, we were pre booked and staff took great care with Covid pandemic precautions. Our documents to permit eating inside were inspected. We had to wait a bit for service and ordering once seated. I had an excellent half bottle of Merlot, while my wife enjoyed cocktails. All food served was of a high standard, tasty and well presented. We had Massaman Chicken curry, Red Curry and stir fried pork and veg in oyster sauce for mains, sharing platter for starters and desserts were very good. Overall i give a 4 out of 5 score to the experience, and we will definitely return.

Cool, modern restaurant
Food was 10/10, authentic, fresh and full of flavour. Good sized portions also. We couldn’t finish our food and asked to bring it home. They topped up the rice and noodles for us to enjoy the next day.

andrewbY2649DC30-09-2020 - Final stop on ring of Kerry Arrived without reservation,but we were made very welcom,it was 6.45pm.We decided to have the early bird which on top of being excellent value was also exceptionally good.1 had the house soup followed by Sweet n Sour pork and to finish I had White Chocolate Cheesecake.My buddy had chicken Skewers followed by Beef with cashew nuts and sticky toffee pudding.We also had coffee,coke and 1pink gin with mixer all for less than €65 TOTAL.Lovely ambience,wonderful met're D,very professional staff with great adherence to the Covid restrictions.20minutes after we arrived there was only 1 free table and I'm not surprised. Top Notch guys and well done.

Dorina15-09-2020Had to visit twice! My husband and I visited Genting Thai last Monday and it was so good we went back again the following night.
The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, nicest interior ever seen in any Thai we’ve been in. It was bright, spotlessly clean and social distancing regulations firmly adhered to. The manager welcomed us and showed us to our table and his friendliness and helpfulness was mirrored by all his staff.
Tasting platter was amazing as was the chicken satay and over the two nights I had both the red Thai curry and the green Thai curry. My husband ate the Gai phad med Mamuang with chicken and on the second night the same dish with tiger prawns. Drinks were excellent also but bar service was a little slow each night. Sorry, want to be truthful.
We will definitely visit again when in !Killarney and will look forward to it.

I have always been a fan of Thai food and this was the best I’ve ever had. Fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection. My personal favourite was the beef with chilli, nice and spicy but with other beautiful flavors too. Great drinks options too, with very good cocktails.
